Underwater Maintenance without Interruption or Waste

In response to the current challenges of reducing costs and preserving resources, APRO Industrie offers a unique maintenance service carried out underwater using its SIRENE robot. This robot can inspect and clean water-filled tanks without requiring drainage, allowing facilities to remain operational while saving hundreds of cubic metres of water.

Precise Inspection, Targeted Cleaning

The intervention begins with a full video inspection of the interior of the tank. From the ground, our SIRENE operators can visualise the condition of the walls, joints and submerged equipment, and assess the level of sludge accumulation. This diagnosis enables us to identify the maintenance work required.

The robot cleans the bottom of the tank without the need for draining, allowing operations to continue uninterrupted while maintaining hygienic conditions.

A Reliable and Compliant Process

The whole process is remote-controlled, meaning that only minimal human intervention is required. This significantly reduces the risks to the operators. Furthermore, these interventions comply with CNPP Rule R1 (addendum dated 15 June 2012). A full report containing photos and videos is sent at the end of each operation.

Suitable for a Wide Range of Applications

This method is suitable for most clean-water tanks: steel (bolted, welded or riveted), concrete, with membrane or mastic seals.

It is ideal for tanks used for:

  • Fire protection
  • Drinking and industrial water storage
  • Municipal and industrial wastewater treatment
  • Oil, Gas and Energy

Alternative Solutions When Robotic Inspection Is Not Suitable

If the conditions do not allow for the use of the robot (cloudy water, lack of access, etc.), two types of intervention are possible:

  • Ground-level visual inspection, for an initial assessment
  • An in-depth inspection from scaffolding with electrical testing of the steel panels to check the condition of the coatings (epoxy or glass-fused-to-steel coatings).

Each intervention is followed by technical and work recommendations, if necessary.

FAQs – Robotic Inspection

Can the robot intervene in all types of tanks?

No, it only works in tanks that contain clear water and have a sufficiently large inspection hatch. In all other cases, manual inspection remains possible.

Is it necessary to shut down the tank's systems during the intervention?

The intervention is designed to minimize any disruption. The tank remains in operation, and if the system needs to be shut down, it is only for a short and fully controlled period.

What is included in the service?

Each intervention includes the transport and use of the robot, as well as an inspection or cleaning if necessary. A complete report with photos and videos, along with recommendations, is also provided.

Other Servicing and Maintenance Services

In addition to underwater inspections, APRO Industrie offers a range of preventive and corrective maintenance services for your tanks. Our teams can completely empty a tank, clean the interior and carry out a detailed visual inspection. We also handle maintenance and repairs to roofs, waterproofing membranes, and repairs to joints and pipe penetrations, including replacement when they are damaged or no longer compliant. We can also replace technical elements such as gauges, valves, level detectors and worn components.
