Maintenance and Inspection by Robot
Companies are turning to sustainable solutions to preserve resources and control costs. APRO Industrie's SIRENE robotic system offers an innovative alternative, enabling you to inspect and clean your tanks without interrupting service or wasting water.
- No-drain inspection of the tank, remains in service
- Up to 50% saved on water
- Fast, simple, and safe intervention
- Cleaning and inspection of metal or concrete tanks
- No human entry required
- Comprehensive report with photos and videos
- Compatible with drinking water, fire protection and industrial tanks
- Approved under the CNPP R1 standard
Underwater Maintenance, without Interruption or Waste
In response to the current challenges of reducing costs and preserving resources, APRO Industrie offers a unique maintenance service carried out underwater using its SIRENE robot. This robot can inspect and clean tanks in clear water without requiring drainage, meaning that facilities can remain operational and hundreds of cubic metres of water can be saved.
Precise Inspection, Targeted Cleaning
The intervention begins with a full video inspection of the interior of the tank. From the ground, our SIRENE pilot team can visualise the condition of the walls, joints and immersed equipment, and assess the amount of debris present. This diagnosis enables us to anticipate the necessary maintenance requirements.
The robot is designed to clean the bottom of the tank without draining it, which means the service is uninterrupted and hygiene is maintained.
A Reliable and Compliant Process
The whole process is remote-controlled, meaning that only minimal human intervention is required. This significantly reduces the risks to the operators. Furthermore, these interventions comply with Rule R1 of the CNPP (addendum dated 15 June 2012). A full report containing photos and videos is sent at the end of each mission.
A Solution Adapted to Many Sectors
This method is applicable on the majority of clear water tanks: steel (bolted, welded or riveted), concrete, with a membrane or mastic sealing.
It is ideal for tanks used for:
- Fire protection
- Drinking or industrial water
- Treatment of municipal or urban effluents
- Oil & Gas/Energy
Alternatives in Case of Incompatibility
If the conditions do not allow for the use of the robot (cloudy water, lack of access, etc.), two types of intervention are possible:
- Visual inspection from the ground, for a initial assessment
- An in-depth inspection from scaffolding with electrical tests on the steel sheets to check the condition of the coatings (epoxy, glass-fused-to-steel).
Each intervention is followed by technical and work recommendations, if necessary.

FAQs - Robot
Can the robot intervene in all types of tanks?
No, it only works in tanks that contain clear water and have a sufficiently large inspection hatch. In all other cases, manual inspection remains possible.
Is it necessary to shut down the tank's systems during the intervention?
The intervention is designed to minimize any disruption. The tank remains in operation, and if the system needs to be shut down, it is only for a short and fully controlled period.
What is included in the service?
Each intervention includes the transport and use of the robot, as well as an inspection or cleaning if necessary. A complete report with photos and videos, along with recommendations, is also provided.
Other Servicing and Maintenance Services
In addition to underwater inspections, APRO Industrie offers a range of preventive and corrective maintenance services for your tanks. Our teams can completely empty a tank, clean the inside and carry out a detailed visual inspection. We are on hand to deal with issues relating to the roof, the waterproofing membrane and any holes or lines of joints. This includes replacing them if they are damaged or not up to standard. We can also replace technical elements such as gauges, valves, level detectors and worn elements.
