Drinking Water Storage Solutions
APRO Industrie designs and supplies bolted steel tanks for drinking water storage, mining applications and industrial water storage, available as ground-mounted tanks or elevated tanks on steel support towers, with water storage capacity ranging from 4 m³ to 10,000 m³. Our mining water tanks and industrial water storage solutions are designed to perform in the most demanding operating environments.
Our bolted steel water tanks, including our range of mining water tanks and commercial water tanks, are manufactured in compliance with internationally recognised standards (ACS, WRAS, NSF/DWI), as well as European regulations for food-grade liquid storage and potable water contact (EU) No 10/2011 and (EU) No 2020/1245, ensuring safe and reliable drinking water storage across all mining operations and industrial sites.
Technical Features of Our Solutions
Our cylindrical tanks are manufactured from factory-prefabricated steel panels, supplied in kit form and assembled on site using bolted connections, making them particularly suitable for remote sites. The tanks are available in multiple steel configurations (glass-fused steel, epoxy-coated steel, stainless steel, or galvanised steel) to suit the stored liquid and operating environment for each stored liquid and installation environment, including process water storage and industrial process water applications. Each tank is reinforced with hot-dip galvanised steel angle sections curved to match the tank diameter. Watertightness is ensured either by a prefabricated technical membrane or by mastic sealing between the panels, in compliance with applicable drinking water regulations. The roof (conical or dome-shaped) protects the stored water from sunlight and airborne contaminants, ensuring complete watertight integrity; a critical feature for mining water tanks in exposed environments and preserving water quality over the long term.

FAQs - Drinking Water and Water Towers
Find answers to your questions in our FAQs below. Feel free to contact us for any additional information.
What is the capacity of drinking water tanks and water towers?
The capacity of our water tanks ranges from 5 m³ to 10,000 m³.
Tanks on steel towers are generally smaller, ranging from 30 to 500 m³, due to the structural loads the supporting steel structure must bear.
How are drinking water tanks and water towers maintained?
Drinking water tanks are subject to specific regulations, which vary by country. You should consult the relevant authority. Regarding the tank structure, we recommend an inspection every two years to monitor the tank’s condition, verify its safe operation, and maximize its lifespan.
What are the optimal conditions for storing drinking water?
Tanks must comply with the regulations of the relevant country. Materials in direct contact with the liquid must comply with the overall and specific migration limits defined by the applicable regulations. The roof must be fully watertight, and the water retention time should not exceed 48 hours to preserve water quality. Regular cleaning should also be carried out.
